Graduate Hospital is keeping the fun going. After this past Saturday’s super popular and extremely successful Sprung Bar Crawl through the neighborhood, South Street West will once again be hosting a fun neighborhood event this coming Saturday, May 4.
Plazapalooza hits Grays Ferry Triangle — located at 23rd and South Streets — this Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. The event will boast food, beer, live music, family fun and more.
Local bands including Tall Trees and the Clef Club Jazz Ensemble will be performing live and Grace Tavern will be pouring refreshing brews outdoors, in front of the bar. This year’s beer offerings are Yuengling Lager, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Sly Fox Pilsner and Abita Purple Haze.
There will be food offerings from local eateries, and the new Igloo frozen yogurt shop is right there if you’re ready for a cool treat.
Beyond food and drink, look for folks from the upcoming Odunde Festival to entertain children with arts and crafts and other activities. A fire truck and a dunk tank round out the festival attractions.
Plazapalooza is sponsored by the Grays Ferry Triangles Gateway Project — an initiative aimed at enhancing Grays Ferry Avenue. Festivities surround the Catharine Thorn Fountain, which was turned on for the first time in years this spring.
Also, here’s the music line-up:
1:00 pm – South Street Sound Players
1:45 pm – Odunde Dancers
2:00 pm – Clef Club Youth Jazz Ensemble
3:00 pm – New Pony
4:00 pm – Minas
5:00 pm – Tall Tress
See you out there.
