Cheers! Rave Reviews Continue To Pour In For Philadelphia’s Beer Scene And Victory Brewing Company’s Summer Love Ale

With Philly Beer Week going strong through June 9, there are few better times of year to celebrate Philadelphia’s stellar reputation as one of the country’s — heck, the world’s! — best beer cities.

This town’s beer scene has racked up raves from Esquire, GQ, Frommer’s and, most recently, from Forbes, which named Philadelphia to the top of its list of 5 Beer Cities to Hit This Summer in the company of such cities as Portland, San Francisco and New York.

Inspired by Philly Beer Week, GPTMC polled its newly created Philly Friends Panel about the city’s beer scene, asking participants (which could include you!) what they think makes Philly’s beer scene first-rate.

The results? More than 75 percent of the panel attributes the city’s sensational scene to its beer-centric pubs and bars, with nearly 70 percent citing its quality breweries as the most impressive factor.

So not only is Philadelphia a phenomenal place to drink beer, it’s also a brilliant brewing town. Our region’s craft breweries have earned an impressive reputation by brewing some of the world’s best beer.

This summer, Victory Brewing Company and its easy-drinking Summer Love Ale, which was released nationally in bottles for the second year last month, has seen its star rise as Paste magazine’s number one beer of summer.

We’ll drink to that.
