Forget a meet and greet, how about a “meet and make?”
The one-day global gala of creativity is the perfect opportunity to release your inner artist and take on all of the DIY projects you’ve been stashing away on Pinterest.
During the crafty celebration, hundreds and hundreds of of parties are organized around the world — from Dresden, Germany to Denver, Colorado — and participants are encouraged to get together and create beautiful works around a single theme.
This year, Etsy asks its participants to tap into Craft for Community, and use their artistic talents to benefit their hometowns by working together, sharing creative skills or combining craft with philanthropy by partnering with a local organization.
In Philadelphia, newly opened 3rd Ward Philadelphia in South Kensington is set to host a Philly-style potluck to kick off its party. Bring your favorite art supplies (and extras to be donated to local arts organizations) and inspiration.
In Graduate Hospital, other local crafters will celebrate at NextFab Studio with a DIY planter project. Snacks and some materials will be on hand, but you may bring your own supplies to create a cool planter, too.
For the “faint of art,” you can also host an Etsy Craft Party in the privacy of your own home, garden or favorite coffee shop. Just grab your friends and your supplies and get crafting.

Go ahead, craft together.
