Go On A Foraging Field Trip And Have Lunch With James Beard Award Winner Tama Matsuoka Wong At Terrain, Saturday, June 22
Did you know you might be able to find lunch in your own backyard? Foraged Flavor author Tama Matsuoka Wong can tell you how.
Join the author, James Beard Award winner and self-proclaimed weed eater and meadow doctor on a foraging field trip from Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills.
The enchanting nursery and garden shop is part of the Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters group, and is a treasure trove of plants, greenery and home-and-garden items, as well as the site of a charming cafe featuring elegant-yet-simple fare from chef Keith Rudolf.
At 10 a.m., Wong and a small group will depart from Terrain for a morning in the field to learn how to find local and wild ingredients.
Then, the group will return to the cafe at noon for cocktails and lunch prepared with the freshly-gathered finds. The lunch menu starts with green juniper-infused champagne, followed by cured salmon, smoked duck with wild rose petal jam and fresh herb sorbet.
After lunch, Tama will sign copies of Foraged Flavor at 2:30 p.m.
The field trip is limited to just 23 guests, and lunch is capped at 45. To join in the foraging and lunch, the cost is $80 per person; lunch only is $30. Lunch reservations are available with the cafe by calling 610-459-6036.
