For anyone who has browsed the local food blog Dirty Laundry Kitchen, or any professional-grade food blog for that matter, it’s no secret that many food bloggers can really, really cook.
Barrett Bridenhagen, the chef behind the elegant-yet-simple fare that appears on the Dirty Laundry Kitchen blog is offering Philadelphians a chance to indulge in some of her best meals this month as part of a pop-up dinner and pop-up brunch event at (the soon-to-be-closing) Betty’s Speakeasy.
On Wednesday and Saturday evenings each week in July, beginning this Wednesday, July 10, pop-up dinners, boasting a different imaginative menu each week, fill the space at Betty’s Speakeasy in Graduate Hospital.
The event launches with a meat-themed dinner. Think pork belly and pomegranate and lamb shoulder cous cous.
Week two features fish dishes and the pop-up event closes out with veggie meals for week three. Each dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $55 per person.
For those looking for their weekend brunch fix, Sunday morning pop-up brunches are your answer. Beginning on July 14 and running through July 28, a Southern-themed meal (enter shrimp and grits) is prepared for attendees. Brunch begins at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday and costs $25 per person.
Grab your favorite bottle of wine or six-pack of beer, all events are BYOB. Bridenhagen will post suggested wine pairings on her blog as the event approaches.
Reservations are required, click here and follow the directions to reserve your place at the table. Don’t wait, the July 24 event is already sold out.
