Kick off the school year right by helping Philly’s youth during an engaging evening in one of the city’s most picturesque settings. On Sunday, September 8, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens hosts an event to benefit PhilaSoup, an organization that supports Philly teachers and their classrooms.
The premise is simple: Attendees pay $10 each, half of which goes towards funding education-related micro-grants.
In addition to enjoying light food and drink, guests can groove to live music and enter a raffle, which will include prizes donated by local businesses like the Philadelphia Flyers, Live Nation, Longwood Gardens, Honeygrow, Whole Foods, Yards Brewery, Honey’s Sit ‘n Eat, Body Cycle, Zahav and many, many more.
The September event kicks off the 2013-2014 season, which will include additional fundraisers in the winter and spring.
To date, PhilaSoup has directly impacted 1,167 students and funded 22 grants.
