Let the countdown commence!
The highly anticipated Pizzeria Vetri is slated to open its doors two weeks from today on Friday, September 6.
Earlier this week, the pizzeria, located at 1939 Callowhill Street, hung a bright red sign outside of its almost ready location. The top-of-the-line pizza oven was recently installed as was a soft serve ice cream machine.
As anticipation builds for the new spot, so do the expectations. Super chef Marc Vetri and his team have continually set the bar high for everything they do.
And Vetri’s Osteria is already known for its amazing pizza. The ‘za at Osteria has scored spots on best pizza lists not only in Philadelphia, but around the country too.
So we can’t wait to get a bite of the pizzas from the new guy.
The menu has not been released yet, but people paying close attention Marc Vetri and his fellow chefs Jeff Michaud and Brad Spence on Instagram will know that they’ve been testing both traditional circular Neapolitan pies as well as the traditional Roman pizza al taglio or pizza by the slice. Check out some sneak peeks (via Instagram) below.
We’re hoping Pizzeria Vetri treats Philadelphia to both.
Excited? So are we. Follow Pizzeria Vetri on Twitter to stay up to date on the latest news.
