Situated overlooking Independence Mall, Red Owl Tavern at the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia is an ideal spot for an intermission while exploring America’s birthplace.
Now, diners at the contemporary American tavern can not only enjoy rustic, regional fare, but they can also sip from a new menu of exclusively American wines.
The restaurant’s beverage program manager, Kevin Lundell, recently debuted an all-American wine list, banishing varietals hailing from overseas in favor of domestically produced bottles.
Long-established American terriors including Sonoma and Napa in California and the Willamette Valley in Oregon feature prominently, but Red Owl’s list also offers wine-lovers the opportunity to try a sip from up-and-coming wine producing regions across the United States, including nearby Chester County.
A few compelling bottles to seek out include the Guret Brut sparkling wine from New Mexico, the Wolffer Estate cabernet franc from New York and the Galer Estate Rosé from a vineyard located right in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Red Owl Tavern is open daily, and the new wine list is available now.
Stop in soon for a taste of America.
