Support The South Philly Food Co-Op And Discover South Philly’s Gardens On A Self-Guided Exploration, Saturday, September 7

To rally support and raise funds for its ongoing mission to open a member-owned, neighborhood grocery store, the South Philly Food Co-Op again brings us its popular South Philly Garden Tour.

The self-guided trek gives participants an up-close look at some of the best-kept horticultural secrets in and around the vicinity of South Broad Street.

This year’s tour, which takes place on Saturday, September 7, throws open the gates to more than a dozen different gardens, including those at private residences, as well as some maintained by area restaurants and some located in local parks.

A $20 donation provides entry to the gardens, plus a free gift bag (for the first 200 attendees) courtesy of East Passyunk shop Occasionette that will be full of goodies and giveaways from various sponsors.

Burger truck Lucky Old Souls is signed on as the tour’s vending partner, and the entire event wraps with an after party at the South Philadelphia Tap Room, which will have drink specials on for ticket holders.

South Philly High School at Broad Street and Snyder Avenue serves as the check-in location.

Tickets are available online through South Philly Food Co-Op and Urban Jungle.

Tickets will also be available the day of the event for $25.

Plan your garden tour now to discover the hidden green gems of South Philly.
