Say “Happy Birthday” to the Center for Emerging Visual Artists as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The artist haven, which aids emerging artists at various steps throughout their careers and aims to spark art interest in the general public, is presenting a month-long exhibit to applaud its 30 years of hard work.

The exhibition, Celebrating 30 Years of Artistic Excellence, features a variety of mixed-media works created by a number of members of CFEVA’s board of artistic advisors and pieces created by current and former CFEVA fellows.

The late Bebe Benoliel, the founder of CFEVA and Philadelphia arts pioneer, will be honored with a portrait created by artistic advisor, Donald Camp. In addition to the portrait, CFEVA fellows and board members will present photography, paintings and mixed media pieces for the exhibit.

The show opened just yesterday, August 12, and runs through September 20, with an opening reception on Tuesday, September 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Visit the gallery, housed within The Barclay building overlooking Rittenhouse Square, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
