Tonight Picks: Cheers To Alfresco Dining, Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday At Two Museums, Free Concert In Rittenhouse Square And More

Tonight’s weather just begs folks to get outside and enjoy it. Looking to have a relaxing evening? Spend tonight dining outdoors at more than 50 restaurants all over the city.

Plus, this evening Rittenhouse Square ushers in its second free concert of the summer featuring a soulful performance, and it’s also the second to last week of Center City Sips, so get out there and sip on some deeply discounted drinks and appetizers (and try to snag an outdoor table!).

Philadelphia Weekly’s Concerts in the Park: It’s the second week of Philadelphia Weekly’s super popular free concerts in Rittenhouse Square. This evening, soul and jazz take the forefront with a feature performance by Lady Alma, and V starts the show with a cool opening act. The performance beings at 7 p.m., and crowds begin to gather in the park at 6 p.m. Pack a picnic and grab your friends, it’s bound to be a great night.

Cycle Check-Ups at Hotel Monaco: Need a bike tune-up? You’re in luck. Tonight, the Hotel Monaco hosts free bicycle check-ups by the folks from Keswick Cycle from 5 to 7 p.m. No appointment is needed, just roll up and the bike experts will get fixing. Services include front and rear derailleur and brake adjustments, wheel and tire inspections and on-the-spot express tune-ups.

Center City Sips: One of our favorite Wednesday evening promotions, Center City Sips, is here to cure all mid-week blues. Tons of Center City’s most popular bars and restaurants open up their doors for the weekly promotion. From 5 to 7 p.m., indulge in $5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer and half-priced appetizers. Count us in. Be sure to catch it before its too late, this almost too good to be true promotion ends at the end of the month.

Drink N’ Draw at 3rd Ward Philadelphia: Tonight, 3rd Ward Philadelphia welcomes a special Drink N’ Draw event. In typical Drink N’ Draw fashion, guests are invited to pay $10 with their drawing tools in tow and receive full-access to a model provided by 3rd Ward and complimentary drinks. Tonight, in addition to free beer, sip on complimentary cocktails made with Spodee.

Unknown Japan At PhilaMOCA: Every Wednesday night through mid-September, PhilaMOCA presents a free screening of a rare Japanese film as part of its Unknown Japan series. RAAMP It Up Wednesday at the African American Museum in Philadelphia: Treat your ears to a live concert and treat your wallet to an evening of free admission at the African American Museum in Philadelphia. Explore the galleries of the museum at no cost at all from 5 to 8 p.m., and at 5:30 p.m., listen to soul fusion band, Mixed People, as they take the stage for an energetic performance.

Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday and The Terrace Bar at the Philadelphia Museum of Art: Discover the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s extensive collection at whatever price you choose to pay at its Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday event. From 5 to 8:45 p.m., explore the collection housed in the main building and partake in an assortment of activities. Also visit the PMA’s Terrace Bar, which offers alfresco tables overlooking the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and food and drinks from Stephen Starr Events.

Visit NMAJH for a look at its extensive collection and exhibits with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres from the museum’s Pomegranates Cafe.
