Explore the secret treasures of the Powelton neighborhood of Philadelphia on a Hidden City tour of the area.
The Hidden City group may sound familiar after a month-long festival earlier this year known as the Hidden City Festival. The festival brought explorers around the city to architectural wonders and corresponding art installations for more than a month.
The Powelton walking tour begins at 1 p.m. on September 21 at the historic Hawthorne Hall which plays home to an art installation from this year’s Hidden City Festival. The tour then brings attendees to the Divine Tracy, the Hotel Powelton, the Cloister and many more historically significant sights in the West Philadelphia neighborhood.
Rachel Hildebrandt, a writer for the Hidden City Daily, a graduate of UPenn and an employee of Partners for Sacred Places, will serve as the event’s tour guide.
Tickets are $15 for Hidden City members and $20 for non-members. Tickets are available online.
When: Saturday, September 21, 1-2:30 p.m.
Where: Tour leaves from Hawthorne Hall, 3849 Lancaster Avenue
Cost: $15 for members, $20 for non-members
