This Saturday, September 21, you are going to have multiple opportunities to transport yourself to Germany while staying right here in Philadelphia. In addition to massive Oktoberfest block party at Brauhaus Schmitz, the annual Oktoberfest celebration at the German Society, and the Oktoberfest party at Morgan’s Pier, one of the biggest celebrations taking place will be the annual Oktoberfest celebration and block party at Philadelphia outdoor beer garden, Frankford Hall.

Frankford Hall’s Oktoberfest block party, a beer-filled fete on Frankford Avenue from Girard Avenue to Shackamaxon Street, sets up shop all day long — from noon to 10 p.m. — with an array of Bavarian celebrations.

Along the avenue, find Frankford Hall food stations serving up bauernwurst, bratwurst and warm bavarian pretzels. Also find beer tents providing guests with German beers from Hofbrau and Paulaner breweries.

Victory Brewing Company will be on hand with its brew pub on wheels, a mobile brewery offering Festbier, Zeltbier and Headwaters Pale Ale. Yards Brewing Company will also make its way to the festival with two of its most loved beers in tow.

Enjoy equally tasty bites and drinks from Frankford Hall’s neighbor, Fette Sau. Indulge in its burnt end barbecue sandwiches and smoked corn on the cob. The BBQ hot spot will also be pouring three different Sly Fox Beers all day long.

Beyond food and drinks, enjoy pony rides, carnival games, a balloon artist and music provided by the Ja Ja Jas.
