A week from today, on Thursday, September 19, make plans to celebrate the ever-developing flavors of Mt. Airy as Mt. Airy USA hosts Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll, an evening of dining and drinking showcasing the burgeoning dining scene along Germantown Avenue.

In the spirit of The Food Trust’s hugely successful Night Market — which returns to Chinatown next month on Thursday, October 3 — gourmet eats and drinks take to the streets of Mt. Airy next week, lining Germantown Avenue from Mt. Airy Avenue to Sedgwick Street.

Come Thursday evening, head to Mt. Airy to nosh on fare from more than 40 food vendors, shop crafts and apparel from more than a dozen on-site retailers, listen to live music on two stages and watch a live outdoor simulcast of the Philadelphia Eagles game.

Look out for such awesome local Mt. Airy eats as Avenida’s tostadas, Little Jimmie’s sweet potato cupcakes and Jyoti Indian Bistro’s kati rolls, plus smoked saison and other brews from Earth Bread + Brewery, mojitos from Wine Thief Neighborhood Bistro and seasonal local craft beer at Trolley Car Diner.

In addition to showcasing Mt. Airy eateries, Street Fare will also welcome food trucks hailing from across the city, including favorites like Macmart, Local 215, Sum Pig, Pitruco Pizza, The Mini Trini, Taco Mondo and Yumtown.

For the shopping portion of the program, goods ranging from jewelry and accessories to skin care and soaps will be on-hand.

So, mark you calendars now for next Thursday, and check back for more as this blockbuster evening approaches.
