Tonight, head to Mt. Airy to nosh on fare from more than 40 food vendors, shop crafts and apparel from more than a dozen on-site retailers, listen to live music on two stages and watch a live outdoor simulcast of the Philadelphia Eagles game.

The weather report tonight looks seriously favorable for an outdoor affair, so get out and get your block party fix.

Read on for our complete guide to Street Fare in Mt. Airy.

The Food and Drink

The dining scene in Mt. Airy has certainly expanded in recent years, and the lineup of local eateries on tap for Street Fare highlights the neighborhood’s tremendous growth.

With food and drink options from more than 43 food vendors (at last count), it’s best to come early (to try and avoid long lines) and come hungry (to taste everything).

Look out for such awesome local Mt. Airy eats as Avenida’s tostadas, Trolley Car Diner’s catfish, Little Jimmie’s sweet potato cupcakes and Jyoti Indian Bistro’s kati rolls.

In addition to showcasing Mt. Airy eateries, Street Fare will also welcome food trucks hailing from across the city, including favorites like Macmart, Local 215, Sum Pig, Pitruco Pizza, The Mini Trini, Taco Mondo and Yumtown.

With four booths serving adult beverages spread out along the festival footprint, sipping at Street Fare will be simple.

Look for smoked saison and other brews from Earth Bread + Brewery, mojitos from Wine Thief Neighborhood Bistro, margaritas from Avenida and seasonal local craft beer at Trolley Car Diner.

The broadcast kicks off at 8:25 p.m. and the screen will be set up between Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Sedgwick Street.

Families should report to the kids activity area between East Durham Street and Mt. Pleasant Avenue. The booth with hook kids up with fun temporary tattoos, lead kids yoga, provide drawing and coloring, jewelry making and more.

For the shopping portion of the program, goods ranging from jewelry and accessories to skin care and soaps will be on-hand from nearly 20 artists and retailers, including the ladies of the Smak Parlour mobile fashion truck, who will be setting up in Mt. Airy for the evening.
