Tonight Picks: Fall Festivals Fill The City With Street Fare Food Truck Block Party In Mt. Airy, Third Thursday Live And Local At Race Street Pier, Rittenhouse Row Fall Fashion Crawl And More

We’re in the midst of fall festival season and the celebrations are hitting hard.

Mt. Airy ushers in a fleet of food trucks for Street Fare, an event full of vendors, food from local eateries, mobile fare, shopping, live music and more.

On the Delaware River, live music takes the stage at Race Street Pier as it presents its final Third Thursday Live and Local music performance of the season. Watch a number of Philadelphia-area performers tonight at Race Street Pier and even enjoy free beer from Philadelphia Brewing Company to set the mood for an upbeat evening.

The Philadelphia Collection continues to bring stylish events to the centerfold, so don your most dapper duds and head out for a variety of fashion-forward happenings this evening. The Fringe Festival also continues to fill stages across the city, so take your pick of a variety of unique performances.

Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll: Mt. Airy welcomes more than 43 food vendors to Germantown Avenue this evening for Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll, a full evening of food, beer, shopping, music and a live outdoor simulcast of the Eagles game. Dinner is served from a number of Mt. Airy’s awesome local eateries like Trolley Car Diner, Avenida’s and Jyoti Indian Bistro. Continue noshing all evening at favorite food trucks like Mac Mart, Local 215, Sum Pig and Pitruco Pizza. Pair your eats with a variety of alcoholic beverages — don’t miss the homemade brews from Earth Bread + Brewery. Tonight’s festivities begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m.

Third Thursdays Live and Local at Race Street Pier: Savor summer (and this great weather) at the final Third Thursday Live and Local event of the season. Race Street Pier invites guests out for live and free music from some of Philadelphia’s most talented folks. Tonight, the Delaware River hangout ups the ante with free beer from Philadelphia Brewing Company. That’s right, free. The musical lineup for tonight features Chill Moody, a local hip-hop artist, Osiris Rex, an electronic-rock group and the Joe Jordan Experiment, a guitar player known to entertain audiences with everything from heavy metal to folk tunes. A few lucky guests will head home with free tickets to the Kid Cudi and Tyler the Creator show on September 26 at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing. Count us in.

The Philadelphia Fashion Incubator’s Runway Show: Watch models donned in the season’s hottest trends strut down the runway tonight at the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator at Macy’s in Center City. The runway looks, which have been created by the designers-in-residence at Macy’s, largely feature pieces from Spring/Summer 2014 and also a few for Fall 2013. The show begins at 5:30 p.m. Following the show, attendees are invited to shop the looks on the second floor from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Jazz in Hawthorne Park: Tonight, Hawthorne Park at 12th and Catharine Streets supplies Philadelphia with its jazz fix thanks to its monthly jazz performances. This evening marks the last of the summer series, so be sure to pack a picnic dinner and head out for some live music. Beginning at 7 p.m. tonight, the live (and free!) concert welcome Venissa Santi, a vocalist specializing in the upbeat tunes of Cuban jazz, to the Catharine Street stage.

Fringe Festival: The multi-week Fringe Festival is still going strong. The avant-garde performances continue to wow crowds through Sunday, September 22, and tonight, theaters and performance spaces all around the city play home to dozens of live performances. Rittenhouse Row Fall Fashion Crawl: This evening, enjoy the best of fall fashion and mixology at the Rittenhouse Row Fall Fashion Crawl, a night of in-store events at a number of Rittenhouse Row shops. Tickets are required to attend the fashion crawl, visit Sephora to purchase a ticket for $30 a piece. Once you’ve acquired a ticket, head to stores such as Lagos, South Moon Under, Knit Wit, Plage Tahiti, Nicole Miller, as well as all of the retailers within The Shops at Liberty Place. At each shop, browse deals on apparel and accessories while toasting with drinks crafted by the experts of such hotspots as The Ranstead Room, Vernick Food and Drink, Sbraga, Lacroix, Tinto, Zama, Rouge and more.

White Tie Affair Fashion Show at The Oval: The Oval, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway’s pop-up park, returns for the fall with a full weekend of style-centric festivities. Tonight, dress up in all white for White-Tie Affair, a free fashion show and event presented by FBH The Agency. The event celebrates the fashionistas of Philadelphia through a white-tie fashion show followed by an awards ceremony. Pair the fashion-forward event with bites from food trucks such as Delicias, Cherry Bomb Bus and the Tot Cart and wine from Penns Woods Winery.

Center City District Restaurant Week: Don’t sleep on the majorly discounted dinners of restaurant week. The fall installment of the popular promotion is here for the tasting. Enjoy discounted meals at more than 100 participating restaurants from Rittenhouse Square to Washington Square West. Restaurant week dinners ring in at $35 per person.
