Update: Due to inclement weather, all events at the Oval on Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11 have been canceled.

Last call, Philadelphia! The Oval returns for one final pop-up weekend from Thursday through Sunday, October 10 through October 13.

Look forward to Harvest Happenings, multiple days of autumn-centric community programming.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday, The Oval welcomes children and adults alike for a variety of entertainment.

Over the weekend, play a game of oversized chess or checkers, or challenge your friends to a lively game of bocce ball. Also enjoy fare from favorite food trucks.

The specific events vary each day and are truly too good to miss.

On Thursday, October 10 from 5 to 11 p.m., PHAIR open-air market kicks off the weekend with an evening of shopping with more than 50 vendors offering vintage goods, handmade items and art. Shop to the tunes of an on-site DJ.

On Friday, October 11 at 8 p.m., end the workweek with a free outdoor screening of October Sky (appropriately). Movie snacks abound from trusty food trucks. Before the screening, take part in hands-on workshops, a motion animation lesson from the Philadelphia Film Festival and a make-and-take star wheels craft from the Franklin Institute.

On Saturday, October 12, the Oval transforms into a countryside farm complete with hayrides, warm apple cider, live music and a petting zoo. Then, the Halloween spirit runs on high at the costume party from 4 to 9 p.m. Children are invited to don their most impressive costume and strut to the tunes of local DJs.

Finally, on Sunday, October 13, bid farewell to The Oval with a slew of outdoor programming from noon to 4 p.m. The full list of harvest weekend events is available here.

Access to The Oval is completely free, just pay for food, drinks and items from the PHAIR market on a pay-as-you-go basis.
