The heart of the Gayborhood welcomes the return of OutFest, an annual block party throughout Midtown Village.

Philadelphia was one of the first cities to organize a National Coming Out Day celebration, and the event has since grown to be the largest Coming Out Day celebration in the world!

On Sunday, October 13, from noon to dusk (or whenever the neighborhood-wide party ends), live entertainment, shopping vendors, numerous outdoor dance party, high heel race and much more take to the downtown streets.

The main stage, located at 13th and Locust streets, ushers in live entertainment of all sort all day long. Think everything from a pet show, to a hula hoop contest, to an opening workout led by the 12th Street Gym. The huge alfresco block party also recognizes notable members of Philadelphia gay community in an afternoon awards ceremony.

For those looking to shop, enjoy a flea market down 13th Street, a bazaar along Quince Street and the shopping goodness of Midtown Village’s regular store offerings.

The street-closing festival takes over all of the Gayborhood, from 11th Street to 13th Street and from Walnut Street to Spruce Street. Nearly every bar, restaurant and shop in the festival radius presents festival goers with specials for the duration of the festival.
