Now’s your chance to contribute to the city that loves you back: Philadelphia’s LOVE Your Park Fall Service Day is back on Saturday, November 16.
The Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation will host a day-long volunteer event in nearly 80 parks across the city where you can rake fall leaves, plant bulbs and prepare the parks for winter.
Visit www.loveyourpark.org to sign up to volunteer at the park of your choice.
LOVE Your Park is a collaborative year-round initiative to celebrate Philadelphia parks. Autumn is the perfect time to take part, as the leaves collect on the ground and the barren trees need protection from the impending winter weather.
Last year, 1,500 volunteers collected dozens of tons of leaves in 57 parks. All of the leaves collected were composted instead of going to a landfill. Let’s beat that this year!
