Get literary this holiday season with more than just a trip to the Dickens Village.
Take it to the next level with poetry and performance art at the Lantern Theater Company world-premiere adaptation of Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales.
The Lantern’s artistic director Charles McMahon has teamed up with local interdisciplinary artist Sebastienne Mundheim to transform classical set design with an interactive wonderland.
Because as any Rankin Bass fan can tell you, it’s not a holiday classic until you add a few puppets.
Memories of fire trucks and snowstorms breathe through the lips of a four person ensemble, while the stage itself becomes the movement in Thomas’ evocative prose.
Evening and matinee performances keep it family friendly through January 5, while a December 20 wine tasting event caters to children-at-heart.
Tickets are available online.
