The Raven Society of the Free Library presents its annual holiday soiree this weekend and this year, the party raises a hat to the library’s year-long celebration of Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, The Year of the Bard: Shakespeare at 450, in 2014.
The masquerade-style party, Twelfth Night on Friday the Thirteenth, will take place at the Parkway Central Library at 8 p.m. this Friday, December 13.
Look forward to live music, dancing, Shakespearean actors throughout the fete, an open bar and a silent auction featuring items from some of the city’s most popular folks (think Zahav, Phillies, DiBruno Bros. and FringeArts).
Get in the spirit and toast to the occasion with a specially-brewed Shakesbeer from Yards Brewing Co.
Tickets are $50 for Raven Society members, $75 for non-members and $100 for those looking to attend the party and join The Raven Society. Tickets are available online.
The Raven Society aims to promote literacy and learning across the city by raising money through parties (like this one!) and other events throughout the year.
With Christmas less than two weeks away, get in the spirit of giving by donating a teen mystery or horror book to the Free Library at the evening event.
