The Mummers Parade is a favorite New Year’s Day tradition here in the City of Brotherly Love and this year marks the 114th year of the well-loved event.
On New Year’s Day, the Mummers and the citizens of Philadelphia ring in the New Year in super-festive style as more than 10,000 men and women dressed in colorful costumes parade down Broad Street to music and perform dance routines along the way.
From December 28 through December 31, Mummers fans are invited to get in on the action before the parade. Try on real-life Mummers costumes, learn steps to the Mummers strut, make themed crafts, watch the designers put finishing touches on the floats and watch the Mummers practice their dances before the big reveal on New Year’s Day.
MummersFest runs from noon to 8 p.m. on December 28, noon to 7 p.m. on December 29, 4 to 9 p.m. on December 30 and noon to 6 p.m. on December 31.
Tickets are $5, but the event is free for children under the age of four.
