Looking for a hot ticket on a cold weekend?
Join Martha Graham Cracker, one of the city’s favorite drag queens, as she headlines the Pig Iron Theatre Company’s Annual Benefit Cabaret at the Trocadero.
This year’s event pays tribute to the splendor of the silver screen through dazzling performances by Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, Berserker Residents, El Malito and the 33rd Century, The Lady Hoofers, Johnny Showcase, Red 40 and the Last Groovement, to name a few.
This annual celebration benefits the Pig Iron Theatre Company, a Philadelphia-based ensemble dedicated to creating original works and exuberant performances that defy easy categorization. Think genres like “soundscape and spectacle”, “cabaret-ballet” and “avant-garde shadow puppet dessert-theatre”.
Leading up to the event, go online to bid on an amazing array of prizes like dinner at Audrey Claire, tickets to Gala Flamenca at the Kimmel Center or an archeologist-guided tour of the One Day in Pompeii exhibit at the Franklin Institute.
On Friday night, a live auction will feature even more enticing prize packages, including an L.A. getaway at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Broadway tickets and a private, in-home Pig Iron performance for you and your friends.
Buy your tickets online today. Reserved floor seats are already sold out, but general ($25) and reserved side ($50) tickets are still available. Doors open at 7, and the show starts at 8 p.m.
