Sustainable fashion is the name of the game at the latest exhibition for the city’s Art in City Hall Program. The exhibition, Eco + Fashion, brings the work of 18 artists to the spotlight through February 28.
Look forward to a dress made from organic pineapple fiber, a dress coated in live moss, a dress made from bicycle parts, wires and window screen and earrings made from bullet shells and cut-up credit cards.
The exhibition is designed to promote eco-consciousness and bring awareness to sustainability issues via wearable art.
Local retailer, United By Blue, a local, sustainable apparel and accessories company that promises to remove one pound of trash from oceans and waterways for every product sold, also sets up shop with a special installation designed for the exhibition.
The exhibition is slated to take place in the Art Gallery in City Hall and extends to a display case in the hallway directly outside of the room.
Stop by for the opening reception tomorrow, January 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.
