The Lodge At Waterfront Winterfest Continues With Weekend Hours At Blue Cross RiverRink Through Sunday, March 2

Good news, winter fun enthusiasts!

Originally slated to close on Sunday, January 5, The Lodge at Waterfront Winterfest will remain open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, March 2.

To celebrate 20 years of ice skating on the Delaware River, Penn’s Landing’s Blue Cross RiverRink transformed the annual waterfront rink into a veritable winter wonderland, complete with ice skating, fire pits, hot food, warming libations and live entertainment.

Since its November launch, Waterfront Winterfest has proven to be a seriously excellent alfresco winter destination, and we would have been truly sorry to see it dismantled during the RiverRink’s season.

Though both the light show and craft market have indeed wrapped up for the season, The Lodge — a 500-person warming tent and American-style beer garden with food from chef George Sabatino — will continue its operations on the weekends (rather than daily) through the run of the seasonal rink.

The Lodge will be open with grab-and-go snacks (drinks, hot dogs, cookies, chips), craft brews, hot food and — yup! — fire pits with s’mores on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Currently, the Lodge will open on Fridays with snacks from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., hot food from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and beer service from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

On Saturdays, snacks are served from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., with hot food from noon to 11 p.m. and beer from noon to 1 a.m. On Sundays, look for snacks and beer from 1 to 9 p.m., and hot food from 1 to 8 p.m.

Throughout the rest of RiverRink season, you can also continue to ice skate with seven sessions daily, take private ice skating lessons, plan a sled skate or group party.

For more information on skating sessions, including lessons, check here.

Admission to the Blue Cross RiverRink is $3, and skate rental is available for $10. Plus, convenient on-site parking is also available for $12. Tickets are available in advance online, too.

Remember, in the case of inclement weather check online or Facebook for up-to-date skate session information.

Today, RiverRink opens at 1 p.m. after the winter storm Hercules.

See you on the ice!
