Weekend Picks: Chinese New Year Celebrations Around Town, Super Bowl Sunday, Free Admission To The Barnes And PAFA, Pay-What-You-Wish Sunday At The Art Museum And More

With Super Bowl parties, Chinese New Year celebrations and first Sunday museum discounts, it's a weekend to grab your friends and head out, plus the weather is flirting with 50 degrees which is all the more reason to celebrate. (Photo by M. Edlow for Visit Philadelphia)

With Chinese New Year celebrations, Super Bowl parties, the final day of Center City Restaurant Week (today!) and first Sunday museum discounts, this weekend is chock full of things to do.

Today marks the Chinese New Year, so celebrate the Year of the Horse with special dinners, museum events and a parade in Chinatown throughout the course of the weekend.

On Sunday, tons of bars and restaurants are dishing out Super Bowl specials — a wing cook-off, take-out specials, beer battles and plenty of parties complete with all of your game day favorites — so you’ll be well-fed while watching Super Bowl XLVIII.

On the first Sunday of every month, The Barnes Foundation offers guests free admission while The Philadelphia Museum of Art provides guests with pay-what-you-wish admission all day long. In addition to The Barnes and PMA, The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts continues its free admission Sunday this weekend. How’s that for an art-full weekend?

Plus, the weather forecast for this weekend is a serious breath of fresh air. Saturday is slated to be 45 degrees and Sunday is expected to hit 50. Enjoy the mild temps with an ice skating session at the RiverRink followed by some craft beer at The Lodge.
