The PHS Pop-Up Beer Garden Returns To The Avenue Of The Arts For A Weekend-Long Winter Edition With Yards Brews And Warming Tents, February 14-16
Awesome news alert, Philadelphia. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s pop-up beer garden on the Avenue of the Arts is back.
For one weekend only this winter, the PHS Pop-Up Beer Garden returns to fill the vacant lot on South Broad Street with twinkling lights, flowing brews and merry visitors.
If you missed the pop-up garden during its five-month run from May through October 2013, know that PHS transformed this pocket of urban blight into beautiful landscaped community space with a mobile beer garden and restaurant, frequent events and an ever-present crowd.
Leading up to the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show with its ARTiculture theme, look out for flower displays to explode all across the city — with the first site as the pop-up garden right on the Avenue of the Arts.
Opening on Valentine’s Day, February 14, the pop-up beer garden will remain open through Sunday, February 16 from 4 to 9 p.m. each day.
Look for heated tents with plenty of seating, brews from Northern Liberties’ own Yards Brewing Company, a tree-themed LED light display by Brian Hoffman Design and plenty of inspiration to scoop up tickets to see this year’s Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, March 1-9.
Beyond this weekend, PHS plans to cover the city and beyond with floral displays throughout February, so keep an eye out for more flower bombs for an opportunity to win free Flower Show tickets. Stay tuned for more as the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show blossoms.
And remember, PHS will be back next summer with another pop-up garden in a new location!
