Tonight Picks: The Philadelphia Flower Show Continues With Wedding Wednesday, Chestnut Hill Restaurant Month, Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday At The Art Museum And More

The 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show continues to add some spring to Philadelphia’s step with plants and flowers arranged to resemble renowned art from prestigious museums, and tonight, the Flower Show and Philadelphia Wedding magazine present Wedding Wednesday, a themed night designed specifically for brides-to-be.

Beyond the Flower Show, Chestnut Hill ushers in the first week of its Restaurant Month promotion with dinner deals at more than a dozen restaurants in the neighborhood. Stop by Chestnut Hill hotspots including Mica and Heirloom to take advantage of a $25 meal.

Wednesday night also brings pay-what-you-wish Wednesday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the masses which means discounted admission the galleries housed within the main building including access to the museum’s newest exhibition, Treasures From Korea.

The Philadelphia Flower Show: The Pennsylvania Convention Center is full to the brim with flowers, plants and spring-like sights as the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show continues its display. Open until 9 p.m. tonight, transport to warmer months with a show of thousands of fragrant flowers and plants under the theme of ARTiculture, a fusion of renowned pieces of art and horticulture design.

Devour a tasty dinner for $25 per person at restos like Mica, McNally’s Tavern, Heirloom and Iron Hill Brewery. Special menus vary by restaurant, so be sure to call ahead to get the deets.

Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art: Take in the Art Museum’s newest exhibition, Treasures From Korea at its recurring pay-what-you-wish Wednesday event. In addition to the marquee exhibition, explore the galleries housed in the main building, partake in yoga, crafts, themed tours and more all for whatever admission price you’d like to pay.

Intelligence Squared U.S. at the National Constitution Center: Tonight, the National Constitution Center hosts a seriously scholarly event, Intelligence Squared U.S., an acclaimed live debate series. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., ABC News’ John Donvan will moderate a debate addressing the hot-button question of the scope of presidential constitutional authority when it comes to targeting U.S. citizens abroad. Admission to the program is $30 (free for 1787 Society members) and advance tickets are highly recommended. Reserve tickets online or by calling 215-409-6700.

Wedding Wednesday at The Philadelphia Flower Show: It’s Wedding Wednesday at the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show. For an admission fee of $50, brides-to-be are invited to learn special tips from more than 50 wedding vendors and experts about how to prepare for their big day. Tickets also include full access to the flower show and a swag bag full of goodies. Tickets are available online.

Dock Street Brewing Company and White Dog Cafe Present Best Friend Dinner: White Dog Cafe, purveyors of local produce, dairy and meat, call upon its West Philly neighbor, Dock Street Brewing Company for an evening of local food and beer pairings for its Best Friend Dinner, tonight at 6:30 p.m. Look forward to a four-course meal paired perfectly with four of Dock Street’s brews. Menu items include smoked mussel flatbreads, tuna tartare and cocoa spiced duck breast. Dinner costs $45 per person.

Bourbon & Branch Presents Beauty + Brains / Burlesque + Variety: Northern Liberties’ latest bourbon outpost, Bourbon & Branch, hosts a geeky-themed burlesque show tonight. Beauty + Brains / Burlesque + Variety brings sci-fi, fantasy and comic book themes to a burlesque show complete with an on-site DJ, drink specials and more beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for the general public and $8 for students.
