Weekend Picks: Final Days Of The Philadelphia Flower Show, First Friday Happenings Around The City, Craft Beer Express And More

This weekend, the Philadelphia Flower Show wraps up, but not before continuing to please the crowds with impressive designs, a giant plant sale and even some fitness classes on the show floor. (Photo by R. Kennedy for Visit Philadelphia)

It’s the final days of the 185th annual Philadelphia Flower Show, an explosion of immaculate plant and flower design and renowned art that is slated to close its doors (until next year!) on Sunday, March 9. Check out the top 10 reasons why we’re excited for this year’s flower show (butterflies! Jose Garces’ cuisine! Warhol exhibition!), in addition to the serious signs of spring upon first entrance.

This evening, First Friday supplies the city with lots of after work events for all to enjoy. Head to Old City, Northern Liberties, Frankford Avenue in Fishtown and Manayunk to take full advantage of exhibition openings, gallery events, sales, performances and more.

On Saturday, the Craft Beer Express transports beer lovers to 12 of the city’s popular bars for tap takeovers, rare brews and plenty of beer-fueled fun.

Read on for our picks for this weekend.
