The Annual Equality Forum Returns May 1-4 Featuring Panels And Special Events, Including SundayOUT! At The Piazza, Sunday, May 4

For more than 20 years, the Equality Forum summit has brought the largest national and international LGBT civil rights event to Philadelphia. In 2014, the event returns with four days of parties, discussions and special programs and more, all designed to promote LGBT civil rights.

Kicking off Thursday, May 1 and continuing through Sunday, May 4, Equality Forum features more than 30 programs including panels with national and international leaders, discussions on the status of LGBT rights in the U.S. and around the world, art exhibitions, special events, festivals, live music and more.

Engaging with the multi-day affair is easy. Perhaps the simplest way is to take in the 15th annual LGBT art exhibit, Lindsay Morris: You Are You at The Gershman Y Gallery.

Come the weekend, check out dozens of events at mostly taking place at the University of the Arts on the Avenue of the Arts in Center City.

Highlights include a National Legal Panel on Saturday at 1 p.m. to discuss an overview of the status of marriage equality and recognition suits from across the nation, including Pennsylvania’s three marriage cases, as well as the big-ticket International Equality Dinner at the National Museum of American Jewish History, honoring community leaders.

And, of course, SundayOUT! at The Piazza is back on Sunday, May 4 from noon to 6 p.m., with Jumbotron and live entertainment, more than 100 artisans, food vendors and community organizations.

Live entertainment this year features the well-known DJ Cassidy, DJ K.Ash, pop artist Jamai Mosley and Fuego Dance Company.
