The First Fridays of spring and summer mean more alfresco events in neighborhoods across the city, including Old City, the originator of First Friday.
The Betsy Ross House welcomes the warmer temperatures with alfresco movie screenings of classic horror films from the 1950s and 1960s every First Friday from this week, May 2 through the October First Friday on October 3 — with the exception of Friday, July 4.
This Friday, May 2 beginning at dusk, tune in to a showing of Plan 9 from Outer Space, a sci-fi thriller from 1959. Guests are encouraged to bring their favorite beer, wine or cocktail and sip under the stars and stripes, too.
Admission is $5 and includes access to the film screening and a tour of the historic Betsy Ross House. Tickets for this week’s screening are available online.
On Friday, June 6, enjoy a screening of Attack of the Crab Monsters, a film about brain eating giant crabs. The full list of upcoming films is available right here. All screenings begin at dusk and are BYOB.
Take note, due to Fourth of July festivities, there will not be a movie screening on Friday, July 4.
