This spring weekend doesn’t only bring on block party-style festivals.
Plenty of alfresco fun can be had at countryside attractions by those looking to steer clear of the tens of thousands of festivalgoers flocking to the city to take part in the many blockbuster urban events of Super Spring Saturday on Saturday, May 3.
Of particular note, the awesome annual Peddler’s Village Strawberry Festival returns this weekend, May 3-4, with fresh-fruit-filled treats, a juried selection of artisan-made crafts, pie-eating contests and a packed schedule of live entertainment.
Naturally, both days of the festival will center around eating locally grown fresh strawberries.
Be they dipped in chocolate, wrapped in pastries or stewed in jams, there will be no shortage of ripe berries. Plus, plenty of fresh strawberries will be available for purchase by the pint.
In addition to sweet treats, the Strawberry Festival includes a juried craft show, children’s activities, live entertainment throughout the day — think stiltwalkers, singer/songwriters and banjo players — and pie-eating contests on both Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. (sharp!).
Admission to the event is free, as is parking, but bring cash for all the berries!
Venture out to verdant Bucks County this weekend to celebrate spring and all of its sweet bounty.
