Brewerytown, the increasingly hip neighborhood just north of Fairmount, is swinging opens its doors to all comers for its annual Brewerytown Spring Festival this Saturday, May 10. The festival takes over three blocks of West Girard Avenue between 26th and 29th Streets from noon to 5 p.m.
Behind the popular North Star Bar — at the 2600 Block of W. Girard Avenue — the festival flows over into a lot for live performances all day long.
The sidewalk festival promises food, entertainment, drinks, crafts and shopping, which is perfect for the quickly approaching Mother’s Day holiday.
Along the avenue, area shops and restaurants are slated to set up outside for alfresco eats and drinks. Think tacos from Shifty’s Tacos, barbecue ribs from Butter’s Soul Food To Go, pastries from High Point Cafe and beer from Rybrew.
For those who haven’t been to Brewerytown for a while, Shifty’s Tacos and Rybrew are must-sees.
Also indulge in fare from food trucks like Ka’chi and Lil’ Pop Shop.
In preparation for Mother’s Day, the alfresco street fest invites the crowd to make crafts, shop handmade items and purchase plants for Mom, too.
