***Update: The Free at Noon concert is now SOLD OUT. All free tickets have been reserved and the space is now at capacity.
Heads up, music lovers. This Friday, admission to a terrific concert is on the house.
That’s right, no need to bring your wallet to the WXPN Free at Noon Live Concert to see Hamilton Leithauser and Chet Faker on Friday, May 16 from noon to 1 p.m.
Originally scheduled to appear outside at The Porch at 30th Street Station, this free show has been relocated and will go on indoors at World Cafe Live due to imminent rains.
Not to be deterred from putting on a concert, though, the University City District-sponsored event will bring two indie rockers to the stage for an afternoon of free tunes.
Check out Hamilton Leithauser, formerly of The Walkmen, who is set to release his first solo album, Black Hours, which features the likes of Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend and Morgan Henderson of Fleet Foxes.
Plus, hear new music from Aussie musician Chet Faker, best known for his uber-popular cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” from 2011.
And remember, University City is chock full of happenings this spring with the Porch at 30th Street Station hosting tons of free programming every week. Check here for the complete schedule of events.
