June 20, 2014
From 1 to 4 p.m., the city’s finest professional and home chefs will go head to head to determine once and for all who makes the best guacamole in Philly. And attendees get to taste the entries and help determine the winners!
This epic epicurean event will take place at the Sonesta Hotel.
Reigning champs Adan Trinidad of Jose Pistola’s (People’s Choice Award Winner 2013) and Robert Legget of Guerilla Ultima (Blind Tasting Award Winner 2013) will be back to defend their titles this year.
The 12th Street Cantina, Whole Foods, Tortilla Press, the Sonesta Hotel and 9-year-old Alison Flam, the contest’s youngest competitor, will also be competing.
Why guac? Well, not only is it a delicious dish, it also happens to be a great source of vitamins and yields tons of health benefits.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children, and they can be purchased in advance or at the door.
Proceeds from this Mexican melee will go to help MANNA’s efforts to provide nutritious meals to people with AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
