Cheu Noodle Bar Hosts A Ramen Rumble Chef Showdown Tonight, Monday, June 23, Starting At 6 P.M.

Ready for a food fight?

Tonight, Cheu Noodle Bar pits two local chefs against one another for a second round of its high-spirited noodle-soup face-off.

Since opening in last year, Cheu owners Shawn Darragh and chef Ben Puchowitz have welcomed crowds of noodle-loving Philadelphians to their compact dining room. With a smartly edited menu of snacks, small plates and — of course — big bowls of noodles, the Washington Square West spot has soared to the top of many must-try lists.

Now, Darragh and Puchowitz are offering up a bit of friendly competition alongside noodles worth serious slurping.

For the second edition of a new tasting series, guests are invited to simply show up at 6 p.m. tonight, Monday, June 23, and check out A Ramen Rumble between chef Scott Schroeder of South Philly Tap Room and American Sardine Bar and chef Nick Macri of Border Springs Farm.

For a prix-fixe price of $25, attendees will score a mini bowl of ramen from each chef, plus one beer and a voter’s card.

The team at Cheu will serve up the chefs’ soups until supplies run out tonight, but we recommend showing up early to ensure a taste of the contenders’ ramen.
