Oh man, have you been outside today?? It’s ridiculously gorgeous out there. What a perfect way to officially kick off summer in Philadelphia.
That’s right. This weekend brings the summer solstice — the longest day of the year(!!) — and the first official day of summer. And what a weekend to start it off… There are a ton of awesome festivals and events taking place all weekend long for you to take advantage of.
First up is
Week 3 of the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series. The weather could not be more perfect for our return to Morgan’s Pier. There will be cold beers on special, delicious sausages off the grill, the World Cup on the TVs, cool breezes, awesome views and more. Definitely the best way to start your weekend.
Elsewhere, Philly’s dining scene is as hot as ever — check out our
brand new roundup of more than 40 of the hottest new restaurants opening in Philadelphia this season. And pick one and make a delicious evening out of it.
Then Saturday marks the return of the two-day
Manayunk Arts Festival, the Clark Park Music and Arts Festival, an all-night party at the Kimmel Center, the Juneteenth festival in Historic Germantown, a World Cup watch party at The Oval and much, much more.
And Sunday brings the opening day of the
all new Cézanne exhibition at the Barnes. And close out your weekend at a giant watch party for the USA vs. Portugal World Cup match at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
So yeah, like we said, it’s shaping up to be a real beauty. The longest day of the year means it going to be light out until almost 9 p.m.(!) Get out there and take advantage.
