Reminder: The Visit Philly Beer Garden Series Continues Today With A Stop At The Brand New PHS Pop-Up Garden Starting At 4 P.M.
The Visit Philly Beer Garden Series Is BACK
After a one-week hiatus for the city’s July 4th celebrations, the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series is back. And if there’s one thing that we’ve learned after the first four weeks of the series, it’s that you guys really love your beer gardens. Turnout for the series has really been awesome — so much so that the lines for drinks at Spruce Street Harbor Park were longer than we would have liked. So we’re working with our host venues to make sure we’re able to scale up capacity for the happy hour series.
Heading To The PHS Pop-Up Garden This Friday
This week is the opening week for the PHS Pop-Up Garden and we’re thrilled to be bringing the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series there today starting at 4 p.m. The Pop-Up opened to rave reviews on Tuesday in the lot next to Jamaican Jerk Hut at 1438 South Street.
PHS has outfitted the outdoor space to hold around 300 visitors at a time, adorning the lot with artful elements transplanted from the Flower Show, along with planned elements like palm trees, hammocks, cabanas, couches, umbrellas and more.
The Pop-Up Garden serves up a selection of craft beers and tropical cocktails, while food options come from a rotating roster of food trucks as well as Caribbean dishes from the Jamaican Jerk Hut located next door. Today’s food truck is Phoebe’s BBQ and Little Baby’s will be on hand with its delicious ice cream.
Plus, the Smak Parlour Fashion Truck will set up shop right outside the Pop-Up Garden, too. A tricked-out 18-foot truck, the mobile boutique holds a full stock of women’s apparel, movable accessory displays and a dressing room. Ladies can step in to stock up on tons of summertime fashion.
Remember, access to the PHS Pop-Up Garden is free, but all guests must sign up for a free membership to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to enter. And feel free to let us know you’re coming by RSVPing via Facebook right here.
Even More Beer Gardens
Given that the PHS Pop-Up Garden only has capacity for about 300 people at one time, we’re going to also recommend you check out some of Philly’s other exceptional beer gardens. Spruce Street Harbor Park is killing it on Penn’s Landing. Morgan’s Pier and Frankford Hall are tried and true favorites. But don’t sleep on some of our other favorites like Memphis Taproom, American Sardine Bar, Silk City, Opa, Garden Variety and more.
After all, the best weekends truly begin at a beer garden.
Explore South Street West And Graduate Hospital
After you check out the Pop-Up Garden, be sure to spend some quality time checking out some of the new developments along South Street West in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood. Within a block or so of the Pop-Up Garden, you’ll find The Cambridge, Rex 1516, Quick Fixx, Sawatadee, Entree, Bob & Barbara’s, Miles Table, Magpie, Indian Restaurant and a number of other places to check out afterward.
And you can always consult our Graduate Hospital Bar Crawl. Check it out here.
The Full Beer Garden Series Schedule
After the PHS Pop Up this week, the series will visit a single beer garden each Friday for the next seven weeks in a row. Next week’s stop is another biggie, too — The Oval at Eakins Oval.
