Top Chef talent Kevin Sbraga’s second Philadelphia restaurant, The Fat Ham, began serving up a healthy dose of Southern charm in University City this past winter.

With a pork-laden menu full of Southern-style small plates, spicy fried chicken to write home about and a bourbon-fueled bar program, the intimate 48-seat restaurant has been packing in dining crowds.

Starting this weekend, though, The Fat Ham’s sophisticated small plates might just take a back seat to a hearty burger platter after 9 p.m.

Launching this Friday, August 22, and running every Friday and Saturday with popular demand, chef Sbraga brings back his special pimento cheeseburger to The Fat Ham for a Burger, Bourbon and Beer special.

Available only on Friday and Saturday nights after 9 p.m., a limited number of burgers will be dished up with seasoned fries, plus a can of Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. beer and a shot of Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon — all for for $18 plus tax and gratuity.

This past winter, The Fat Ham ran a similar fried chicken deal and orders ran out within an hour of the start of service.

Be sure to show up on time to score this late-night deal.
