This Sunday, August 24 from noon to 4 p.m., the Ukrainian Folk Festival returns to the the Ukrainian American Sport Center in Horsham (which is only about 40 minutes from Center City) and brings with it a variety of Ukrainian traditions.
The festival celebrates the anniversary of Ukraine’s independence through traditional dance and music performances. A variety of performance groups are slated to take the stage over the course of the festival.
Jenkintown’s Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, the Iskra Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from New Jersey, the Vox Ethnika Orchestra and more traditional groups will perform for festival-goers.
Flavors from Ukrainian kitchens will fill food tents throughout the festival, too. Guests can expect Ukrainian sausage, pierogies, desserts and a variety of Ukrainian liquors and beers.
For those looking for American fare, barbecue will also be available. Guests will also find a full service pub pouring wine, beer and mixed drinks.
The family-friendly festival also promises a kid’s zone complete with games and activities for youngsters in addition to a shopping area featuring handmade crafts and art.
Admission to the festival is $15 for general admission, $10 for students and free for children under 14.
