Lace up your ice skates — the Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park opens for the season on November 13 at noon.
The opening kicks off with a choreographed dance by the Wissahickon Skating Club to the Rocky theme song.
Also to celebrate opening day, Center City’s ice rink hosts the Philly Sports Pep Rally, where a number of Philly mascots and athletes will hang with skaters, perform and even skate on the ice. Look for SWOOP, the Eagles’ mascot, Danny Briere, a former Flyer, the Phillies Ball Girls, the Eagles Pep Band and the Flyers Skate Girls — who will even skate along the ice rink with the public.
The Rothman Cabin, a heated tent located just steps from the ice rink, will also be open for business with toasty hot chocolate and additional food and drinks from Garces Events.
Beyond opening day, you can head to the rink for learn to skate classes, a visit from Santa on November 27 and more. The rink is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday from noon to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Note that hours of holidays differ, so check here for more information on holiday hours.
Admission to the rink is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and under. Those who do not have their own ice skates can rent a pair for $9.
