Follow the delicious scent of fire-roasted meat to South Philly this weekend.
On Saturday, July 30, over 40 barbecue vendors will gather at Citizens Bank Park for an unprecedented meat eaters bonanza. The Philly BBQ Fest includes the chance to taste some of the best chicken, beef and pork around, plus a rib eating competition, food trucks, carnival games, grilling demos from pitmaster Glenn Gross, live music, radio hosts, a craft beer garden and more.
The festival runs from noon to 6 p.m. this Saturday and gates open at 11 a.m. for VIP ticket holders.
A “half rack” ticket for $50 includes 10 samples, two Phillies game tickets and a commemorative apron, while the “full rack” for $75 adds on one-hour early entry, access to VIP rooftop with appearances by the Phillie Phanatic and Charlie Manuel, a cooking demo and a photo opp with the 2008 World Series trophy.
And we have a tasty deal: Uwishunu readers can score a discount on “half rack” tickets with code VSTPHLLY. Just use ticket code VSTPHLLY to receive 20 percent (or $10) off the $50 ticket.
Tickets are on sale now, and a portion of proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
