The First-Ever Philly Craft Spirits Week Debuts October 27-November 4

In a city where craft spirits are on the come-up, it’s high time for a week devoted to whiskey, rum, gin and the like.

The very first Philly Craft Spirits Week invites discerning sippers to experience all of the exciting distilling happening right here in the region.

The celebration runs from Thursday, October 27 through Friday, November 4 at venues across the city, and is anchored by Philadelphia magazine’s Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival.

With tastings, cocktail specials, theme parties and boozy brunches to attend, there are myriad ways to feel more “spirited” this week.

A collaboration between our friends at Philadelphia magazine and Foobooz and a dozen Philly-area distillers, the inaugural Philly Craft Spirits Week  celebrates the great wave of locally produced booze now made in the area.  The week includes events ranging from casual tastings and happy hours to cocktail competitions and a whiskey festival.

Participating distillers include newcomers like New Liberty Distillery, Bluebird Distilling andStateside Urbancraft Vodka as well as staples on the scene like Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey and  Bluecoat American Dry Gin.

Garces Events hosts the Philadelphia Magazine Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival, an all-encompassing bash featuring over 200 different kinds of spirits, with interactive drink lounges, exclusive tastings and food provided by restaurants like Rex 1516, Double Knott, Heffe and Village Whiskey.

Sunday Funday Cocktail Competition at Heritage

Watch Philly’s bartenders do their thing with 11 different Spirit Week sponsor products at Northern Liberties jazz hideawayHeritage. Guests can taste the competitors’ craft cocktail entries and vote for their favorite.
