With Halloween fast approaching, it’s easy to come across tons of scary-good Halloween happenings across Philadelphia.

In the coming weeks, major Halloween attractions and all-time favorite events return to provide Philadelphians with a healthy dose of Halloween fun — Terror Behind the Walls, a party at the Magic Gardens’ South Philly warehouse, a pumpkin festival on South Street and more.

The Harry Potter Festival in Chestnut Hill may not be a Halloween-specific event, but the two-day festival promises plenty of tricks and treats (and costumes!) throughout the town. On Friday night, start off with the sold-out Harry Potter Pub Crawl and on Saturday, continue the festivities at the day-long street festival. Wands at the ready!

Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary

Celebrate the upcoming Halloween season by testing your nerves at Eastern State Penitentiary’s Terror Behind the Walls, a spooky haunted house inside a history-rich, abandoned prison. Designed to be high-startle, Terror Behind the Walls includes Hollywood-quality special effects and lighting, digital sound, animatronic creatures and custom props. Over 200 performers participate in six separate attractions on the 11-acre complex, creating one scary experience.

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens Black Magic Bash

The 9,000-square-foot mosaicked Philadelphia Magic Gardens Watkins Street warehouse gets even more decked out at the Black Magic Bash Halloween Party. Come costumed to this 21-plus party, where the West Philadelphia Orchestra will play Balkan beats and South Philly Barbacoa will serve up tasty Mexican cuisine. Halloween at Franklin Square

Family-friendly Franklin Square welcomes October with an array of special Halloween happenings. Tee up at Spooky Mini Golf, featuring fog, lights, music and surprises all month-long. On October 22, Franklin Square hosts a Pumpkin Patch, inviting kids (10-years-old and under) to pick out and decorate a pumpkin to take home. On October 29, bring your costume-dressed kiddos out to the park for the Fox Rothschild Trick-or-Treat Trail, a sweet scavenger hunt that promises treats at locations all throughout the park.

Have a witches’ brew at East Passyunk’s annual Witch Craft Beer Crawl on Wednesday, October 26. From 5:30 to 9 p.m., avenue bars will serve up $3 deals on Victory and Troegs brews and special menu items. Tickets are $6.66 and include specials at the participating bars, a witch hat to wear throughout the night and plenty of Halloween tricks and treats along the way.
