La Cabra Brewing

Brewer Dan Popernack experiments with seasonal varieties fermented in seven stainless steel and oak barrels at La Cabra, a brand-new brewery in Berwyn. A rotating list of ten beers are on tap at any one time, along with a Latin-inspired gastropub food menu.

Manatawny Still Works Tasting Room and Bottle Shop

In early 2017, you'll be able to stop into this new spot on East Passyunk for tastings, cocktails and bottles of small-batch whiskey, rum, gin and vodka. Plus, be on the lookout for Pennsylvania Whiskey, a new variety that will be released later this year.

This family-owned and -operated small-batch beermaker is in the process of building its own microbrewery and tasting room in East Falls, which will feature food trucks, live music and a mini beer garden.

Fishtown Brewpub

Construction began last month on a new brewpub in a Fishtown building that has seen iterations as a hosiery mill and an elevator factory. The space will likely include a full kitchen, a pizza oven and a range of wine, beer and spirits.

Second District Brewing Company

Opening just a few blocks away from the new Brewery ARS is Second District Brewing Company, a craft beer spot from a team with years of beer-biz experience at some of the area's most popular breweries (Dogfish Head, Dock Street). The brewery is expected to open in February with eight draught beers and a menu of tasty bar food.

At Roy-Pitz, brewers use barley, hops and yeast as their “canvas” to create barrel-aged and sour beers. The company will open a new brewpub this year where folks can enjoy food and live music alongside their pints.

Yards Brewing Company Expansion

Later this year, Yards will move over to the former Destination Maternity headquarters in Northern Liberties. The 80,000-square-foot space will accommodate an output of 100,000 barrels a year, and there may even be room for a Spring Garden Street brewpub.

Urban Village Brewing Company

Schmidt’s Commons in Northern Liberties is set to welcome a seven-barrel brewery specializing in small-batch, hoppy beers as well as wheat beers, fruit beers, stouts and more. The food menu will feature wood-fired pizzas made from naturally leavened dough.

Goose Island Brewpub

Goose Island will set up shop in an expansive facility located just steps from the popular Fishtown live music venue. The brand, which produces a line of 312 beers, is owned by Anheuser-Busch.

Sir Charles Hard Cider

Just like beer lovers, Philadelphia’s cider fans have reason to rejoice this year. Sir Charles has taken over a former train depot in Olde Kensington and last month commenced construction to transform it into a brewery, tasting room and pub.
