A number of amazing acts have tour stops planned in Philly this month. Plus, Festival Pier — one of the city’s most popular outdoor concert venues — opens for the season with a massive outdoor party in just a few weeks.

Anthrax & Killswitch Engage

The beginning of the month features some of thrash and metal's biggest names combining forces for the Killthrax Tour. While Anthrax stormed the scene in the early '80s and Killswitch Engage got its start in the late-'90s, neither band has taken its foot off the gas over the ensuing years. Look forward to a headbangers ball.

Deadmau5

Producer and DJ Deadmau5 remains one of the top EDM acts in the world, frequently headlining festivals. The international man of mystery recently dropped a compilation of his earlier work and this tour, aptly named Lots of Shows in a Row, hits BB&T Pavilion across the river in Camden, NJ, for two back-to-back nights.

DMX

DMX has had strong ties to Philly in recent years, sharing the stage with Meek Mill and performing one of the most about-talked Roots Picnic sets ever. Now he's set to headline the Theatre of the Living Arts on South Street on April 7. Last time DMX was at the venue, Irv Gotti parked his Bentley coupe out front and DMX scaled and rapped on top of a tower of speakers.

John Mayer

Since John Mayer's last solo performance at the Wells Fargo Center, he's battled problems with his vocal cords and become a fixture in Dead & Company with surviving members of the Grateful Dead. He returns this month on The Search for Everything tour, which supports the album of the same name that drops just a week after his show here.

Flux Pavillion

The U.K.'s Flux Pavilion is touring the globe on his Around the World in 80 Raves tour, and this month he brings his booming EDM beats to Philly for a night. You might recognize him: The DJ and producer's music has frequently been featured in video games and on movie soundtracks.

Chris Brown with 50 Cent and Fabolous

When you throw a party, who do you invite? Your friends, of course. Chris Brown does just that on The Party Tour, bringing along pals 50 Cent, Fabolous, O.T. Genasis and Kap G for a night at the Wells Fargo Center. Whether you like rap or just want to dance, you've got a good reason to come out for this one.

Life In Color

As an EDM event company, Life in Color puts on the "world's largest paint party." Jauz, Seven Lions, Herobust and Solano will kick off the 2017 concert season at Festival Pier in late April and whip the crowd into a multi-color frenzy. Expect to leave covered in paint and dripping with bass.

Squirrel Nut Zippers & Ozomatli

When Duke Ellington crooned, "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing," Squirrel Nut Zippers took it to heart. The high-energy punk jazz outfit from North Carolina re-formed last year for the 20th anniversary of their seminal record Hot. This year they hit the road with Ozomatli, combining forces with the Latin-inspired world fusion band from Los Angeles.

Gucci Mane

Recently freed from jail and recovered from a drug addiction, Gucci Mane has picked up right where he left off. The prodigious mixtape champ recently scored his first Billboard chart-topper alongside Rae Sremmurd with "Black Beatles," and the East Atlanta Santa drops off presents for the kids in Philly this month on his Trapgod Tour at the Electric Factory.

Mike Posner and the Legendary Mike Posner Band

Not only does multi-talented artist Mike Posner possess musical chops, but he also recently published a book of poetry. But before becoming an author, he penned hits for the likes of Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Pharrell, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Snoop, Avicii and countless others, not to mention his own global hit "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." Fans may have to wait until later this year for his upcoming album, but they won't have to wait long to catch him live — he's at the TLA in late April.

The New Pornographers

Since forming in 1999, indie rock band The New Pornographers have taken over the charts and fans' hearts around the globe. Having dropped a new LP entitled Whiteout Conditions earlier in the month, the band doesn't want anyone to leave the show empty handed — everyone who buys a ticket gets a free copy of the album. Former "Duffle Bag Boy" 2 Chainz can't do much wrong these days, and the hype for this month's release of Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, named by Complex as one of the most anticipated albums of the year, proves palpable. With more than 10,000 seats inside The Liacouras Center, expect them all to be filled — but with no one sitting down.

21 Savage

Atlanta has steadily cranked out a long list of "who's who" in the rap game. The latest crop includes 24-year-old 21 Savage, recently spotted taking in the Super Bowl with Meek Mill. Already platinum with X and writing the highest ranking EP in Billboard's history, he brings the Issa Tour to The Fillmore with other notable up-and-coming acts including Young M.A.
