For more than 200 years, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) has been a key part of Philadelphia’s creative community.
This month, the prestigious institution continues one of its most popular traditions with its 116th Annual Student Exhibition. The group show runs through Sunday, June 4.

More than 1,000 works of art, all by PAFA students, are on display now through June 4. These pieces are the creations of 38 graduating MFA students, 59 third- and fourth-year Certificate and BFA students and eight Post-Baccalaureate students.
PAFA’s Annual Student Exhibition offers students the unique opportunity to showcase their work in a major museum. Plus, art appreciators get to purchase pieces from up-and-coming artists at the start of their careers.
Pieces span a variety of media ranging from painting to printmaking, drawing to sculpture. Highlights include an interactive art-making experience, a virtual reality piece and other prize-winning student work.
