Weekend Picks: Opening Day For Spruce Street Harbor Park, Chinese Lantern Fest, Mother’s Day And More

50+ fantastic things to do in Philly this weekend...

Another fun-filled May weekend is here with festivals, exhibitions, concerts and more all around the city.

Today, Spruce Street Harbor Park opens for the season with its first-ever UNIVESTival, a free festival featuring live music, crafts and performances as well as on-the-water and off-the-water fun.

Sunday marks Mother’s Day, and some of the city’s most frequented attractions celebrate all of the moms (and mother figures) out there with special brunches, shopping days and fun-filled activities. Click here for our guide to Mother’s Day in Philly.

Also this weekend? The first weekend for the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square, the rain-or-shine Art Star Craft Bazaar at Penn’s Landing, the Dad Vail Regatta, closing day for American Watercolor in the Age of Homer and Sargent at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and more.

Don’t forget to follow Uwishunu on Twitter and Instagram for updates throughout the weekend.

With some rain in the forecast, be sure to check event websites and social media pages before heading out to any al fresco events.
