Weekend Picks: First Friday, The Roots Picnic, Comic Con, Free Museum Days And More

The first weekend of June kicks off with huge festivals, in addition to all of the first-of-the-month fun (First Friday, free museum admission and more).

On Saturday, the Roots Picnic — one of the waterfront’s biggest concerts — hits Festival Pier with live performances from top hip-hop musicians like Pharrell, The Roots and Solange.

This weekend, the PECO Multicultural Series kicks off its weekend of festivals with the Irish American Festival on Sunday. Throughout the day, Penn’s Landing guests can enjoy special performances from traditional Irish dance groups, authentic food and drinks, shopping from vendors and more.
