Weekend Picks: Movie Nights, Night Out Restaurant Week, Franklin Square Food Truck Fest And More

Take advantage of summer fun on this sunny August weekend...

Sunny skies and not-too-hot temperatures are the theme of the weekend (yes!) and luckily, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the summer sun in Philadelphia.

The weekend starts off with outdoor movie nights at both Dilworth Park (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Clark Park (Moana). Both screenings are completely free to attend and guests are encouraged to bring snacks, picnic blankets or low-back beach chairs for maximum movie enjoyment.

Parks on Tap, summer’s favorite roving beer garden, pops up at two different parks this weekend — Clark Park and Penn Treaty Park. Visit either spot for cold drinks, tasty food, games and plenty of space to lounge al fresco.

Through Sunday, the restaurants of Northern Liberties and Fishtown welcome deal seekers for Night Out Restaurant Week, a deal-fueled promotion that brings lunch and dinner discounts to favorite spots like Cantina Dos Segundos, Kensington Quarters, Jerry’s Bar and more.

Read on for our guide to this weekend in Philly.
